The coaches picked TCU first after the Horned Frogs took the last two regular season titles. Five Big 12 teams opened the year in the national top 25: TCU at No. 6, Colorado at No. 13, Kansas at No. 15, West Virginia at No. 20 and Texas Tech at No. 23. Baylor and BYU also received votes.
A note on TV
Only two Big 12 matches carry a national television window all season, both on ESPNU: Colorado at Texas Tech on September 27 and Texas Tech at TCU on October 11. Arizona at Arizona State, October 30. The Territorial Cup rivalry closes the road slate.
Eight conference matches on November 5. The whole league finishes on one Thursday night.
