The nonconference warm-up is over. The Northeast-10 has turned to league play, and after the first weekend of conference games, four teams are unbeaten and every result counts toward seeding. Here’s where the league stands and what’s ahead.
The early leaders
Southern New Hampshire has the best résumé so far. The Penmen are 5-0-2, have scored 26 goals, and opened NE10 play with a 2-1 home win over American International. Their attack has produced blowouts of Jefferson (7-2) and Wilmington (6-0).
Assumption is 4-1-1 after a 6-2 win over Saint Anselm and a 3-2 conference-opening win over Saint Michael’s. Bentley (3-2-2) got a 1-0 road win at Adelphi to start league play, and Saint Anselm (4-2) bounced back from the Assumption loss to beat Pace 2-1.
Franklin Pierce (3-1-2) is the team to watch among the rest. The Ravens beat Bentley 5-0 in nonconference play and tied Southern Connecticut 2-2 in their league opener.
