The Sunshine State Conference is one of the most competitive leagues in Division II, and every SSC team plays in Florida. Two weeks into conference play, three teams have six points and nobody has pulled away. Here’s where the league stands.
The early leaders
Florida Southern is the hottest team in the conference. The Moccasins are 7-1, with 1-0 at Eckerd and 2-1 over Lynn to open league play. Their only loss was a wild 4-3 nonconference game at Saint Leo.
Florida Tech (4-1-2) is also perfect in league play. The Panthers won 3-0 at Nova Southeastern and then beat Saint Leo 3-2 in Melbourne.
Rollins (4-2-1) has won two straight 1-0 conference games, most recently at Embry-Riddle on Wednesday. Tampa (2-1-3) is unbeaten in the SSC after a 2-0 win over Rollins and a 1-1 draw at Saint Leo.
