The Upset: No. 25 Missouri 45, No. 8 Florida 17
The lowest-ranked team in the poll steamrolled a top-10 opponent. Missouri outscored Florida 42–10 after the first quarter, and the Tigers’ physicality on both lines was the story.
- Jamal Roberts ran 24 times for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns.
- Austin Simmons completed 23 of 30 passes for 340 yards and 2 TDs.
- Cayden Lee caught 8 balls for 110 yards.
The result vaulted Mizzou to No. 14 heading into Week 6, while Florida slid to No. 16.
Big Ten: Ohio State and Indiana Keep Rolling
No. 5 Ohio State 31, No. 14 Iowa 14. Ohio State went into Kinnick and never trailed. Julian Sayin was surgical (20-of-27, 324 yards, 3 TDs), and Jeremiah Smith reminded everyone why he’s the nation’s top receiver with 11 catches for 206 yards and 2 scores. Iowa didn’t find the end zone until the fourth quarter.
No. 6 Indiana 47, Rutgers 15. Indiana led 23–0 at halftime at Rutgers. Josh Hoover threw 4 TDs on 20-of-27 passing, and Turbo Richard ripped off 204 yards on just 13 carries. The Hoosiers are 5–0 and head to unbeaten Nebraska this week.
No. 18 USC 25, Washington 21. USC trailed Washington 14–10 at the half and needed its defense to bail it out. Jahkeem Stewart‘s 48-yard fumble return gave the Trojans the lead for good. Jayden Maiava threw for 245 yards and a touchdown.
SEC: Alabama Rolls, Georgia Cruises, Kentucky Survives
No. 7 Alabama 56, No. 16 Mississippi State 23. Alabama scored exactly 14 points in every quarter in Starkville. Keelon Russell was efficient (16-of-22, 285 yards, 3 TDs). Mississippi State receiver Anthony Evans III was a bright spot with 12 catches for 166 yards and 2 TDs.
No. 2 Georgia 38, Vanderbilt 14. Georgia pulled away after a 21–14 halftime lead. Gunner Stockton went 25-of-32 for 295 yards and 3 TDs. For Vanderbilt, Junior Sherrill posted 7 catches for 107 yards and a score.
No. 17 Tennessee 24, Auburn 14. DeSean Bishop carried the load for Tennessee: 34 carries, 220 yards, 3 TDs. Auburn led 7–3 at the break before the Vols took over.
No. 24 Kentucky 35, South Carolina 34 (OT). The wildest finish of the week. After South Carolina scored and kicked the extra point in overtime, Kentucky answered with a touchdown and went for two to win it. Kenny Minchey threw for 272 yards and 3 TDs, and LaNorris Sellers ran for 147 yards in the loss.
No. 11 LSU 63, McNeese 14. LSU led 35–0 at the half against McNeese. Sam Leavitt threw 3 TDs, and Corey Barber Jr. caught two of them.
ACC: Miami and Notre Dame Win on the Road
No. 4 Miami 41, Clemson 13. Miami dominated in Death Valley, scoring 17 in the fourth quarter. Mark Fletcher Jr. ran for 2 TDs. Clemson got 152 receiving yards from Bryant Wesco Jr., but dropped to 3–2.
No. 3 Notre Dame 37, North Carolina 26. Notre Dame stayed perfect at North Carolina. CJ Carr threw 4 TDs, Jordan Faison had 132 receiving yards and 2 scores, and Jonaz Walton added 120 on the ground.
No. 21 SMU 25, Boston College 16. SMU erased a 10–6 first-quarter deficit and kicked its way past Boston College. BC quarterback Mason McKenzie accounted for 282 total yards and 2 TDs.
Big 12: BYU Grinds, Texas Tech and Houston Rally
No. 10 BYU 17, TCU 10. BYU stayed unbeaten in a defensive slugfest at TCU. Horned Frogs TE Kari Ashley had 108 receiving yards and a TD.
No. 12 Texas Tech 29, Colorado 7. Texas Tech trailed Colorado 7–3 at halftime, then scored 26 unanswered points.
No. 20 Houston 27, UCF 17. Houston was shut out in the first half and still won, outscoring UCF 27–7 after the break.
Pac-12: Boise State Wins the New League’s First Game
No. 22 Boise State 37, Utah State 18. Boise State won the first-ever game in the rebuilt Pac-12. Maddux Madsen was 17-of-21 for 244 yards and 2 TDs. Utah State RB Javen Jacobs ran for 139 yards on just 10 carries.

- Passing yards: Braden Atkinson, Oregon State, leads the country with 1,848 yards and 16 TDs. USC’s Jayden Maiava (1,744) is second.
- Efficiency: Miami’s Darian Mensah is completing 84.2% of his passes with 15 TDs and zero interceptions (212.1 rating). Indiana’s Josh Hoover is at 203.8 with 15 TDs and no picks.
- Rushing yards: Boise State’s Dylan Riley leads with 685. Florida’s Jadan Baugh leads the group with 11 rushing TDs, and Indiana’s Turbo Richard averages 9.3 yards per carry.
- Receiving: Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith sits No. 1 nationally, followed by Oregon State’s Jesse Legree, Rutgers’ KJ Duff, and Miami’s Malachi Toney.
