Week 6 College Football Predictions: Three Unbeatens Hit the Road, and Every FBS Pick

Three Unbeatens Hit the Road, and Every FBS Pick

Three unbeaten top-25 teams play away from home this week, and one of them walks into a rematch. Georgia goes to Tuscaloosa ten months after holding Alabama to minus-3 rushing yards in the SEC title game. Indiana goes to a 5-0 Nebraska. UCLA goes to Autzen with Oregon still waiting on Dante Moore.

And Texas, the AP No. 1 with 61 first-place votes, meets Oklahoma in Dallas after both teams had a bye.

Below are our picks for all 58 FBS games this week, starting with the ten that matter most. They are our calls, not the room’s: voting is open on every game, twenty points a pick, and every vote counts toward your school on the fan leaderboard.

1. No. 2 Georgia at No. 6 Alabama

Saturday, 7:30 PM ET · ABC · Bryant-Denny Stadium

The last time these two met, Georgia won the SEC Championship Game 28-7 and held Alabama to minus-3 rushing yards. Both arrive 5-0. Gunner Stockton went 25 of 32 for 295 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-14 win over Vanderbilt, two of them to Dwight Phillips Jr. Alabama put 56 on Mississippi State on the road, held the Bulldogs to 18 rushing yards, and got two touchdown passes from Keelon Russell to Rico Scott.

The Tide’s run defense is the question it could not answer in December. It has answered it every week since.

Our pick: Alabama 27, Georgia 24.

2. No. 1 Texas vs. Oklahoma

Saturday, 3:30 PM ET · ABC · Cotton Bowl, Dallas

Texas leads the Red River series 65-51-7 and won last year’s meeting 23-6. Arch Manning has 862 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions, and the Longhorns already own wins over Ohio State and Tennessee, with Colin Simmons collecting 5.5 sacks against the Vols. Oklahoma is 2-2, has lost the turnover battle 9-2 over its last three games, and may be without safety Michael Boganowski, left tackle Michael Fasusi and linebackers Owen Heinecke and Cole Sullivan. Brent Venables is 1-3 against Texas.

Our pick: Texas 27, Oklahoma 13.

3. No. 21 UCLA at No. 13 Oregon

Saturday, 3:30 PM ET · CBS · Autzen Stadium

Everything here hangs on Dante Moore, who left the USC game by ambulance after a targeting hit. Dan Lanning says Moore is “looking like he’s going to be OK.” If he cannot go, Dylan Raiola threw for 289 yards and two scores in relief. Moore started his college career at UCLA.

The Bruins are 4-0 for the first time since 2022 under Bob Chesney, coming off a 54-3 win over Maryland that was their largest Big Ten margin ever. Nico Iamaleava threw for 209 and Wayne Knight ran for 100.

Our pick: Oregon 31, UCLA 24.

Vote: Oregon vs. UCLA → · Compare the two programs

4. No. 7 Indiana at Nebraska

Saturday, 12:00 PM ET · FOX · Memorial Stadium

Two 5-0 teams, and only one of them is ranked. Indiana beat Rutgers 47-15 behind Josh Hoover’s four touchdown passes and a career-high 204 rushing yards from Turbo Richard. Nebraska beat Maryland 48-23 with Anthony Colandrea throwing for 238 and three scores and running for 108 more. Kwazi Gilmer caught 11 passes for 147 yards. Indiana goes to Ohio State next week, which makes this the trap the Hoosiers have to step around first.

Our pick: Indiana 34, Nebraska 24.

5. Texas A&M at No. 14 Missouri

Saturday, 12:00 PM ET · ABC · Faurot Field

Missouri beat then-No. 8 Florida 45-17, its first win over a top-10 team since 2013, and climbed eleven places in the poll. Austin Simmons threw for 340 and Jamal Roberts ran for 211 and three touchdowns. Texas A&M snapped its losing skid with a 34-7 win over Arkansas, a week after managing six points at LSU.

Our pick: Missouri 30, Texas A&M 20.

Vote: Missouri vs. Texas A&M →

6. No. 19 USC at Penn State

Saturday, 7:30 PM ET · NBC · Beaver Stadium (White Out)

USC came back from 21-10 down to beat Washington 25-21, sparked by Jahkeem Stewart’s 48-yard fumble return. Jayden Maiava threw for 245. Penn State is 0-2 in the Big Ten after a 34-13 loss at Northwestern, and the White Out is the place to find out whether that is a slide or a stumble.

Our pick: USC 27, Penn State 24.

Vote: Penn State vs. USC →

7. No. 10 LSU at Kentucky

Saturday, 7:00 PM ET · ESPN · Kroger Field

Kentucky is 4-1 after coming back from 17 down to beat South Carolina 35-34 in overtime, when Will Stein went for two and Willie Rodriguez caught it. LSU has outscored its last two opponents 98-20, holding McNeese to 31 total yards and outgaining Texas A&M 506-197. The cheapest seat at Kroger Field is $229, second only to Tuscaloosa this week, which says what Lexington thinks of it.

Our pick: LSU 31, Kentucky 20.

8. No. 22 Houston at Kansas State

Saturday, 3:30 PM ET · FOX · Bill Snyder Family Stadium

Houston’s only loss is by two points at Texas Tech, and the Cougars run for 229.4 yards a game, 19th nationally. Kansas State is 3-1 under Collin Klein, coming off a bye after a 31-26 loss at Cincinnati, with Avery Johnson holding the school record of 55 career touchdown passes. The series is tied 1-1.

Our pick: Houston 27, Kansas State 24.

9. No. 20 Iowa at Washington

Friday, 9:00 PM ET · Husky Stadium

Iowa’s first trip to Husky Stadium in 63 years comes with a quarterback question. Hank Brown left the 31-14 loss to Ohio State injured, and backup Jeremy Hecklinski went 5 for 5 in relief. Washington lost 25-21 at USC and is 0-2 in the conference.

Our pick: Washington 20, Iowa 17.

10. Florida State at Louisville

Friday, 7:00 PM ET · ESPN · L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium

Louisville is 2-3 with three losses by three points each: Ole Miss 41-38, Wake Forest 30-27 and NC State 31-28. It ranks 130th nationally against the pass. Florida State’s Ashton Daniels ran for 136 yards and five touchdowns in a 38-7 win over Virginia, and the defense had ten sacks.

Our pick: Florida State 31, Louisville 27.
