Recent NIL Deals Across College Football and LSU Sports

The season is over for all but a select handful of teams involved in bowl and/or playoff games. But college football players still are cashing in on NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) money for their past production and future potential.

Football players dominate the list of recent NIL deals, and some LSU athletes in other sports also are cashing in. Here’s a look at the most recent NIL deals:

Danny Okoye, Oklahoma, Football

The sophomore defensive lineman will be the first of a series of Oklahoma athletes who will be taking part in a unique NIL deal to promote awareness for Narcan, a life-saving drug for those who have overdosed on opioids. The deal is with HarborPath, a North Carolina drug manufacturer. Okoye will be the first face of a social media effort to raise awareness for the drug.

Malachi Toney, Miami, Football

The wide receiver has built a high NIL profile during an outstanding freshman season in which he’s caught 89 passes for 992 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s seen his NIL valuation climb to nearly $1 million over the course of the season. His latest NIL deal is with Hellstar, an apparel company. Toney becomes the first college athlete to sign an NIL deal with Hellstar.

Dakorien Moore, Oregon, Football

Add the freshman wide receiver to the impressive list of high-profile athletes to join the Red Bull stable. Moore recently announced an NIL deal with the energy drink producer on his Instagram account. Moore joins superstars like BYU men’s basketball player AJ Dybansta, Texas football quarterback Arch Manning and Ohio State football wide receiver Jeremiah Smith as Red Bull promoters.

Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss, Football

There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of this dual-threat quarterback. Chambliss is attempting to convince the NCAA to grant him a sixth year of eligibility. If he’s successful, Chambliss may enter the transfer portal. But one thing is certain. Chambliss recently agreed to an NIL deal to appear in an AT&T commercial.

Zakiyah Johnson, LSU, Women’s Basketball

The freshman guard came to LSU as one of the nation’s top recruits. She’s living up to the hype, as she’s averaging 11.3 points through her first 12 games. She recently became one of 10 LSU athletes to sign NIL deals with Nike.

DJ Pickett, LSU, Football

The freshman cornerback has been one of the few bright spots in LSU’s disappointing season. He already had a high NIL profile, thanks to previous deals with Bowser Automotive and Next Move. But he recently boosted his portfolio with a deal with Nike.

Jayden Heavener, LSU, Softball

The sophomore left-handed pitcher had a great freshman season, and that drew lots of attention. That helped her earn a recent deal with Nike.

Trey’Dez Green, LSU, Football

Although the 6-foot-7 tight end has played basketball at LSU in the past, his focus now appears to be on football. As a sophomore, Green caught 29 passes for 353 yards and five touchdowns and is viewed as a future NFL prospect. He recently agreed to an NIL deal with Nike.

Dedan Thomas, LSU, Men’s Basketball

After two seasons at UNLV, the point guard arrived in Baton Rouge for this season, and he’s averaging 15.7 points and 6.7 assists through his first 12 games. NIL money from LSU’s collective played a big role in Thomas’ transfer. Now, he’s picking up even more NIL money after a recent deal with Nike.
