The Last Unbeatens: Every Undefeated College Football Team Left in FBS and Division II

Only Miami, Utah and UCLA are still perfect in FBS, and 10 Division II teams are 8-0. Full lists, rankings and the game most likely to end each run.

Undefeated college football teams 2026 FBS and Division II

On Oct. 18, six FBS teams were unbeaten. One week later, three were left. James Madison lost 34-31 in overtime at App State on Thursday night, Oct. 22. Two days later, No. 2 BYU fell 39-31 in double overtime at UCF and No. 8 Texas Tech lost 37-24 to Cincinnati.
That leaves Miami, Utah and UCLA as the only perfect teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision, as NCAA.com’s unbeaten tracker reported. Division II is more crowded: 10 teams are 8-0. Here is every unbeaten team in both divisions as of Oct. 28, with the game most likely to end each run.

What each FBS unbeaten still has to survive

Miami. The Hurricanes beat Pittsburgh 52-23 on Oct. 24 and were the only team in the AP poll to hold their spot. North Carolina comes to town next. Then comes the season’s biggest test: a Nov. 7 trip to South Bend to face No. 5 Notre Dame.
Utah. The Utes beat No. 18 Houston 21-13 and climbed to No. 6, their highest ranking since 2019. Their next opponent, Cincinnati, just knocked off Texas Tech. A week later, BYU visits Rice-Eccles Stadium on Nov. 7. Utah also still has road trips to Arizona and TCU.
UCLA. The Bruins beat Michigan State 28-10 and sit at No. 7, their best ranking in 11 years, after climbing 19 spots over five polls. Nevada visits Oct. 31. The back half runs through Minnesota, Illinois and a Nov. 21 trip to Michigan before the Nov. 28 finale against USC.

The DII math: at least two more will fall

All 10 DII unbeatens from NCAA.com’s Oct. 21 list survived the Oct. 24 games. That won’t last. Ferris State and Davenport meet next, so at least one loses. CSU Pueblo and Western Colorado close the regular season against each other on Nov. 14. If Slippery Rock and Kutztown both win their PSAC divisions, they meet for the title the same day.
NCAA.com rated Ferris State’s chances of staying perfect as highly likely. The Bulldogs had won 37 straight as of Oct. 20, per FloFootball. Harding also got a strong grade. Davenport drew the toughest outlook of the group. After Ferris State, the Panthers go to Michigan Tech and then host Grand Valley State.

FCS and Division III

We did not find a verified, current list of unbeaten FCS or Division III teams after the Oct. 24 games. We will add both tables when one is published.

Why unbeaten runs matter for athletes

A perfect record puts a roster on national TV and in every poll, and that attention lands on starters and backups alike. It’s the best window an athlete gets to build a following. Division II players get far less exposure than FBS players, so a run like Ferris State’s or Harding’s is a real chance to grow a fan base.
