- No. 1 Texas 20, No. 14 Tennessee 17. The Longhorns survived in Knoxville behind a dominant pass rush. Colin Simmons had five sacks.
- No. 21 Florida 52, No. 4 Ole Miss 28. The upset of the week. Jadan Baugh and Duke Clark both topped 100 rushing yards in the Swamp.
- No. 17 Iowa 20, No. 18 Michigan 19. A walk-off touchdown gave the Hawkeyes their first win in Ann Arbor since 2010.
- No. 24 Mississippi State 31, No. 19 Missouri 24. The Bulldogs picked up their first ranked win of the season. The crowd also set a cowbell record.
- No. 20 Oregon 41, No. 12 USC 27. The Ducks beat the Trojans for the fifth straight time.
- No. 10 LSU 35, No. 23 Texas A&M 6. The Tigers controlled it from start to finish.
Upsets that caught fans off guard
- Wisconsin 24, No. 13 Penn State 20. The Badgers erased a 17-point halftime deficit, their biggest comeback in 20 years.
- Wake Forest over No. 16 Louisville. Another ranked team was knocked out of the poll.
Close calls
- No. 5 Indiana 29, Northwestern 23. The Hoosiers held off a late comeback but still slipped in the poll.
Player of the week
Ohio State‘s Jeremiah Smith had 217 receiving yards and four touchdowns against Illinois. He now leads the country with 617 receiving yards. Pitt‘s Mason Heintschel threw six touchdown passes against Bucknell.
What it means for the poll
