Storylines to know
Florida is for real. The Gators’ 13-spot jump was the biggest of the week. Ole Miss fell only to No. 9 and stayed ahead of LSU, a team the Rebels beat in Week 3. Jadan Baugh leads the nation with 11 rushing touchdowns, and Aaron Philo is completing 72.4% of his passes.
Mississippi State is one win from the top 10. Unranked in the preseason, the Bulldogs are 4-0. Kamario Taylor has 1,192 passing yards and 14 touchdowns, and Fluff Bothwell has added 402 rushing yards.
Winning isn’t always enough. Indiana slipped after a close win. That makes four straight weeks in which a winning team dropped in the AP poll.
Four new faces.
- Oklahoma State has an Oregon win on its résumé, and Drew Mestemaker has 1,271 passing yards.
- Boise State rides Dylan Riley, the nation’s No. 3 rusher.
- UCLA is unbeaten, and Wayne Knight averages 9.1 yards per carry.
- Kentucky is still riding its Week 3 upset of Texas A&M.
