  • USF 30, UAB 10: C.J. Hicks set a USF record with four sacks, and the Bulls are now bowl eligible.

What Oct. 31 Means for the Rest of the Season

Ohio State’s second loss is the biggest shake-up. The Buckeyes host Oregon next Saturday, and that game now carries much higher stakes for both teams in the Big Ten race. Miami remains the team to beat at No. 1, but a 38-35 escape against an unranked North Carolina team will give voters something to think about.

The bottom of the Top 25 will look very different on Sunday. Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, SMU and Northwestern all lost, which opens spots for teams like Iowa, Syracuse and USC. Indiana stayed unbeaten, but needing overtime against Minnesota means the Hoosiers’ margin for error is thin heading into November.
