Saturday’s ranked games at a glance

All times are Eastern. Noon: BYU at Utah, Texas at Missouri and UCLA at Minnesota. 3:30 p.m.: Alabama at LSU and Oregon at Ohio State. 6:15 p.m.: Kentucky at Tennessee. 7:30 p.m.: Miami at Notre Dame and Georgia at Ole Miss. 9:30 p.m.: West Virginia at Texas Tech. Check your local listings for the TV channel of each game.

1. Miami (Fla.) at Notre Dame

Miami is 8-0 and No. 1. Notre Dame is 7-1 and No. 11. The Hurricanes enter as the top-ranked team, so a road win would strengthen their hold on the top spot, while a loss would open the top line of the rankings. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. ET.

2. Georgia at Ole Miss

No. 2 Georgia (7-1) travels to No. 10 Ole Miss (6-2) at 7:30 p.m. ET. The winner will be in a stronger spot for the Nov. 10 rankings.

3. BYU at Utah

No. 3 Utah (8-0) hosts No. 9 BYU (7-1) at noon ET. Utah is one of three unbeaten teams in the top 12, and BYU has only one loss. For the Big 12, this is the biggest game of the day because it pairs its two highest-ranked teams.

5. Oregon at Ohio State

No. 12 Ohio State (6-2) hosts No. 23 Oregon (5-3) at 3:30 p.m. ET in a game between two Big Ten programs. Ohio State sits on the edge of the top 12, and a win would help it stay there. Oregon is ranked 23rd with three losses, so this game is a chance to move up.

6. Kentucky at Tennessee

No. 6 Kentucky (7-1) visits No. 13 Tennessee (6-2) at 6:15 p.m. ET. Kentucky has one loss and ranks above several two-loss SEC teams, so this road game is a test of that placement.

7. Texas at Missouri

No. 7 Texas (6-2) plays at No. 18 Missouri (6-2) at noon ET. Both teams have two losses, but Texas is ranked 11 spots higher, so a Missouri win could shake up the SEC order.

What it means for the CFP rankings

Four of these games, Georgia-Ole Miss, Alabama-LSU, Kentucky-Tennessee and Texas-Missouri, are SEC games between ranked teams, so at least four SEC teams will take a loss on Saturday. That could change the conference’s share of the top 25. See how the field is shaping up in our CFP rankings 2026 breakdown and our AP Top 25 rankings post.

Why this weekend matters for the playoff field

The committee releases new rankings on Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Nov. 24 and Dec. 1, and the final field is announced Sunday, Dec. 6. With so many ranked teams playing each other this week, the Nov. 10 list is likely to look different from the first one. Teams that win a ranked-versus-ranked game gain a strong result to point to, while the loser still has later chances to recover.

Unbeaten teams get extra attention: Miami, Utah and UCLA are the three 8-0 teams in the top 12, and each plays on Saturday. If all three win, they will keep their records clean heading into the final month. If one loses, the order near the top can change quickly.
